The Sokagi Ipleyin project started in Istanbul during an exchange project in 2005. De performance was done at three different locations. "Sokagi Iple" (bind the street) borrows from slang: Iplemek, being involved in what happens on the street. The intention was to take a childrens game that I used to play and enlarge it. I wanted to bring it to the public in a very close contact way, like children coming together to play. A video was made of this performance to show the course of actions.
The game was also performed on several places in Istanbul and Belgium. The view on the performance had different forms and interpretations dependant on the place it was performed at. The topical, political and social handling was very diverse and bound to the country, hence teaching something on cultural and geographical diversity.
